What do you like the most about being an Optician?
I really enjoy helping someone find a great pair of glasses that they’re excited about. A trip to the eye doctor should be fun! Ensuring people have a great experience with us is genuinely rewarding.
What brought you to the industry and how many years have you been an Optician?
Having worn glasses since third grade, optical shops are a familiar place for me. I first began working in the optical field in 2001! One day I went from being a patient to an employee and the rest was history. I love the combination of the crucial optical aspects and the fashion element that is involved.
What are your favorite spots in Austin?
I’m still exploring Austin, as I’ve only been here two years. I love being outside so some of my favorite spots are Mt Bonnell and Lady Bird Lake (paddle boarding). A couple restaurants I’ve come to frequent are OneTaco and Pourhouse Pizza.
What do you like to do outside of Optique?
When not at Optique, I can usually be found chasing my little boy as he rides his scooter in a park somewhere around town. I also love going for runs early in the morning. Of course some good snacks and a good movie on the couch is always great too!
